Computer Security

The security of our computers, cell phones, emails, and online accounts requires constant vigilance and smart utilization. I would like to share and discuss the ways of providing and improving this security.

Anyone that watches the news knows that our ever-expanding online world is constantly under attack. National chain department stores and hotels have security breaches that provide critical information of millions of people to the hackers. Credit card information of tens of millions of customers is stolen and sold to be abused. Adult dating sites are hacked, exposing over 400 million accounts. The federal government’s Office of Personnel Management is cyber-attacked, providing sensitive information on 22 million government workers. Even your kid’s Sony PlayStation network was violated, revealing names, passwords, credit card information and more of many millions of gamers. This is just a small number of examples of the many such occurrences. While our options to fully protect our online accounts might be limited, there are things that can be done to guard against computer hacking and cyber theft. I intend to explore those options, and share and discuss with interested parties.
